Growing Up. No we are not yet to a birthday milestone, but we have experienced a couple of developmental milestones that I need to mention. Both milestones could be used as indicators of a child coming out of "babyhood" and into "childhood".

First, potty training has been a long road for us - not that it has been bad or that the girls don't enjoy having dry pants - but it seems like we have been doing this for 1 1/2 years now! Both Sydney and Abigail have been out of diapers for short times at home for a few months now, but we dare not take them in public or school without pull-ups because they forget. For instance, the girls were helping Daddy plant tomato plants in our garden beds yesterday and one of the girls (who will remain nameless) forgot to inform, sat down, had a very pleasant look on her face, and wet her pants. No big deal, but we wonder when they will start remembering. Our milestone has come over the past couple of weeks when Mama is at home with the girls all day - no diapers all day, even during naptime, and they have been telling us when they need to go! We are very proud.

Last weekend brought the second milestone of our girls' lives, which I am sure they learned from one of their school friends...the "why" word. Many of you with young children remember this time in your kids life - your every action or statement is questioned. Of course, the "why" game is a great way for the girls to learn, but it seems like their minds are never at ease. I think it started this past weekend, on Saturday morning, when one of the girls asked "You going to work today, Daddy?". I explained that it was Saturday, Daddy's day off, and that I would be with my girls all day...which was followed by "Why?" Oh, boy...

An update and a public service announcement (PSA) from us today. The PSA is a reminder to backup your files from your computer on a regular basis. Our computer crashed last week - I've often heard of this phenomenon but never believed it would happen to me. The computer was rebooting after a very common update download (Itunes), and we had nothing but a black screen and an error message. The computer folks said the "partitions" were bad - I think all of our data is jumbled up in one big pile instead of being in the folders they were previously in - and they said they'd try to retrieve as much as possible. Of course, it will take time and be costly.

We have many pictures, videos, and documents from around Christmas 2006 and before backed up, except for 2005 pictures, and are missing 2007 - present stuff. I'll let you know how it goes...

Sydney and Abigail are so proud of their new silky, nightgowns - they are awfully cute!

Below are some pictures the girls created last night with markers. I thought their different styles of coloring is very interesting - with twins we are able to notice these subtle differences. Any art teacher or personality pseudoscientists out there that can explain these styles to us?

Okay, okay, it's been a while, we know. So here are a few photos from the past few weeks.

Our new favorite place to play - great for coloring, playing with playdoh, or arranging blocks.
Although the brisk wind kept many inside for the Easter Egg hunt, the girls would not be deterred. The girls gathers plenty of eggs...but not more than the quota of 12 set forth by Miss Janet.
Sydney and Abigail liked the shiny ones! (Just like toddlers, eh?)
Grandy and Papa helped too!Even after sharing with some of the other kids, the girls had plenty of candy to go around.

Of course, Sydney's and Abigail's Easter outfits were a hit - stylish dresses with matching jackets.

Abigail delivers a crowd pleaser...and Sydney takes the show into her own hands. See video of the girls' March 13th Spring Program here.
