Luckily, Sydney and Abigail are now at the stage of enjoying the ride in the car. Only a few minutes on the road and the girls are usually fast asleep. The trip to St. Louis this past weekend was not any different--they peacefully slept through the 5 hour trip up and back with a bottle in Paducah each time. They seem to sleep in the car unless we are headed to church, so we end up holding them through the church service most of the time. No exception in St. Louis--I held Sydney in the foyer for most of the service. I guess missing "The importance of deacon selection at McKnight" details from the preacher and spending some QT with my baby wasn't all that bad.

We are beginning to experience the cooing and ga-ing from both of the girls. When they are in the mood, they will stare into our faces and talk to us for a few minutes. How exciting! Although juggling two screaming babies is difficult, they are growing and developing well and are sleeping in longer shifts. We keep telling ourselves that things will only get better--that's the right attitude, right? Rebekah is doing a great job with them at home and is able to have the first-hand experience that some parents are not able to have. She's a great mama.

I can't believe how much the girls are growing! And you're right, things only get better from here. They'll learn new things everyday and it will become more and more exciting. And then one night, you'll wake up and realize that they didn't wake up and it will scare you to death at first. Then when you realize they're ok and they've just slept through the night, it's time to celebrate. Those are great pictures and thank you so much for keeping us up to date.

Hey guys, I have so much enjoyed checking in on you to see what is going on. I wish I could see you and hold those precious babies. Becca, I am so proud of you and Brad. You seem to be handeling this parent thing with a smile. I love you and miss you. Give the girls a kiss from their favorite (lets see what am I? Second Cousin? - anyway I know I am their favorite whatever) Sunny. Thanks for sharing. Love you all so much!!

Hi Kids - it was so nice having you here in St. Louis. Those little babies are too huggable! We are already counting down the days to be able to hold them once again. Brad - you are correct, that Bekah is truly a good mother and we must say you are an excellent father. It is our joy to watch you interact with those little ones. We love you, Papa Mike and Gramma Deanie

Hello Opti!

This is your A.T. friend Whispering Pine checking in to say hello. It looks like you have been busy since hiking the A.T. in "97! Thank you for sending me a birth annoucement with a photo of your beautiful girls. I am so happy for you and your family!

There has been some talk of having a 10th year reunion for the '97 A.T. tru-hikers at Baxter State Park in August of 2007. It looks like you may have a tough time getting away, but if you send me your e-mail address I will keep you in the loop. erskiner@rocketmail.com

When will you be taking the girls for their first hike?

I enjoyed checking out The Glisson Family blog site.

Happy Thoughts!

Whispering Pine
